Jones Lang LaSalle wins prestigious management in Eskilstuna, Sweden

MAPIC, Cannes 16th November 2011 - Henderson Global Investors has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail Management and Leasing team to manage Eskiltuna’s largest Shopping Centre. The contract started in October this year and comprises both management and leasing. Henderson acquired Tuna Park from Alecta in September and one of the first steps was to appoint a new property manager.

The retail area Tuna Park was opened in 2004 and, with its 44,000 square meter of retailing facilities, is one of the largest in the Mälardalen region. Jones Lang LaSalle has been tasked with managing the Shopping Centre section, which comprises 56 retail units and totals 16,000 square feet.

As well as its property management responsibilities, Jones Lang LaSalle will also supervise the leasing and renegotiation of existing retail spaces. There are currently a limited number of vacant spaces and all leases are up for renegotiation in the coming three years.

Fredrik Tellefsen, head of Retail Development and Leasing at Jones Lang LaSalle, commented: “Tuna Park is an efficient and popular Shopping Centre with tremendous potential, which we will be developing further in partnership with Henderson”.

In addition to the indoor shopping centre, Tuna Park retail area also includes a hypermarket section with tenants such as Coop Forum, Systembolaget and KronansDroghandel, and a big box retail section with outlets such as Plantagen, Skopunkten, Expert Stormarknad, KvikKök, Kungsängen, TeamSportia and Mekonomen.
