Coming together to give back

An outpouring of generosity from JLL India goes to help those in need.

May 03, 2020

To raise funds for low-wage workers during India’s lockdown period, JLL India started a fundraiser that would see JLL match every dollar donated by employees.

In just 12 days, the effort raised INR61,40,302, or over $80,000. The amount went toward buying 4,142 packages that each contained 10 days’ worth of food and daily necessities like personal-hygiene products. These packages were distributed to low-wage workers and their families living in camps through NGO Charity Aid Foundation India.

“Many of our employees have expressed the desire to contribute to the less fortunate during this time of need,” says Ramesh Nair, CEO and Country Head, JLL India. “We decided to support it by matching their contribution and were touched by the outpouring of generosity. We had done several fundraising drives like these but this has been the most enthusiastic response we’ve seen.”
