Client story

Creating a modern office with space for collaboration in a new way of working

JLL has in collaboration with Reflex architects and Senab helped Akavia to develop property and design a new member house in its self-owed property.

Akavia is Swedens second largest trade union within SACO. Akavia was formed in January 2020 in the merger between Jusek and Civilekonomerna.

Akavias property on Nybrogatan has been renovated as a step in a modernization and to Re-imagine the ways of working in order to meet the future office needs. The completely renovated façade retains its 60s character, but with lager windows. New stairwell and elevator create better accessibility.

With our proven methods for workplace solutions and change implementation JLL helped Akavia to create a tailored workplace solution that supports Akavias core business in line with the strategic vision, cultural ambitions. With a new floor plan, completely new conditions have been created for a new and modern way of working that is business-adapted. The office will be a meeting place for both employees and members.

During the construction phase the business was kept going in Sundbyberg, where Akavia also tested and evaluated an activity-based working method. When the renovation was complete, Akavia moved back to Östermalm and Nybrogatan.

The good collaboration between Akavia, JLL, Reflex architects and Senab during the four year long project has resulted in a smooth process with close contacts and reconciliations during the project. The end result is a workplace that meets Akavia´s vision of a modern office with a business-based approach.

The member´s house should reflect Akavia and be experienced as both modern an inviting. With varying environments, balanced furniture choices and modern technology, we create opportunities for both employees and members to work and meet with an emphasis on flexibility based on needs.
